1. What are organic products?

Answer: "Organic products" refers to products that are produced, processed and sold in accordance with China's national standards for organic products, are certified as organic products, and are certified as organic products for human consumption and animal consumption. Organic products include food and non-food such as cotton, hemp, bamboo, clothing, cosmetics and feed.

Organic products must meet four requirements at the same time:

2. Is "organic code" the only code?

Answer: In order to ensure the traceability of organic products, the State Certification and Accreditation Regulatory Commission requires certification bodies to give each certification mark a unique code according to the unified coding requirements before issuing certification marks to enterprises that have obtained certification of organic products or allowing organic production enterprises to print certification marks of organic products on their labels. The code consists of 17 digits. Among them, the certification authority code is 3 bits, the certification mark issuance year code is 2 bits, the certification mark issuance random code is 12 bits, and the requirement is to add "organic code" before 17 bits.

The organic codes of each organic sign need to be submitted to the "China Food and Agricultural Products Certification Information System" (web site food. cnca. cn). Information about the organic product name, certificate number and licensed enterprise corresponding to the organic sign can be found on the website.

3. Are organic products allowed to use GM technology?

Answer: Organic Products (gb/t19630) clearly stipulates that genetically engineered organisms/genetically modified organisms and their derivatives, including plants, animals, microorganisms, seeds, pollens, sperm, eggs, other reproductive materials and fertilizers, soil amendments, plant protection products, plant growth regulators, feed and animals, should not be introduced into or used in organic production systems. Production regulators, veterinary drugs, fishery drugs and other agricultural inputs.

4. Are "natural food" and "original ecological food" organic food?

A: No. People living in remote areas often say that our food is collected from deep mountains, wild, natural and organic. However, in terms of organic conditions, this product can not be counted as an organic product because it has not been certified by a legitimate certification authority for organic products.

5. What are the differences between organic food, green food and pollution-free agricultural products?

Answer: Organic food, green food and pollution-free food are all certified products produced according to specific standards.

Organic food is a kind of organic products. At present, China's organic food mainly includes grain, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, livestock and poultry products, aquatic products and seasonings. Organic products also include "non-food" such as cotton, hemp, bamboo, clothing, cosmetics and feed (organic standards include animal feed).

Green food refers to the safe and high-quality edible agricultural products and related products produced from the excellent ecological environment, according to the standard of green food, implementing the whole process quality control and obtaining the right to use the green food label. 6. Are all wild-collected products organic?

Answer: Sometimes we can hear that "we are pure wild food, absolutely organic", which is actually wrong, because not all wild, pollution-free products are organic products.

7. Are the seeds used in organic cultivation conventional seeds?

Answer: According to the national standard of organic products, organic seeds or plant reproductive materials should be selected for organic cultivation. However, when organic seeds or plant reproductive materials are not available from the market, conventional seeds or plant reproductive materials that have not been treated with prohibited substances can be selected, that is to say, conventional seeds can be used in the absence of organic seeds, but seeds that have been treated with prohibited substances and methods can not be used. At the same time, the national standard of Organic Products stipulates that annual plant seedlings should be cultivated in an organic way, so conventional seedlings can not be purchased.

8. Can pesticides be used in organic planting?

Answer: In the process of organic planting production, the national standard stipulates that chemical synthetic pesticides should not be used, rather than pesticides should not be used. The allowable inputs for organic production are listed in the national standards for organic products, including some plant, animal and mineral products. 9. Can all fertilizers be used for organic cultivation?
