At 5:30 p.m. on January 19, the crew of the Xiangyanghong 09 vessel, carrying the Jiaolong, moored at Port Louis, Mauritius, for more than a month at sea, finally got the chance to relax and recuperate. This port is only 6 days. During this period, Xiangyanghong 09 has to supply edible oil, vegetables and other materials, as well as replace the team of scientists. Now it is getting closer and closer to sailing time. What about the preparation on board?
In the aisle beside the door of the fresh-keeping store, there are piles of cold pressed peanut oil in the first box. There are two boxes of tomatoes, a box of kidney beans, and a small amount of garlic seedlings and celery beside the peanut oil. The first cold-pressed peanut oil uses the technology of "low-temperature cold pressing" which is patented by the State. It has complete nutritional retention, and can well supplement the nutritional needs of the crew for cooking oil. However, the local vegetable varieties in Mauritius Port are relatively few, and the vegetable supply of "Xiangyanghong 09" boat is a bit troublesome.
In addition to supplies, 22 scientists boarded the Xiangyanghong 09 boat on the evening of the 19th local time. They will go with the boat to the southwest Indian Ocean to participate in the scientific research mission of the third leg.
At 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 24, local time, after the completion of supplies and the rotation of scientists, Xiangyanghong 09 set sail again from Port Louis, Mauritius, for the third leg of the scientific research mission in the Southwest Indian Ocean.
According to the plan, the ship Xiangyanghong 09 will arrive at the scheduled waters of the Southwest Indian Ocean around 27. According to the weather conditions, the scientific examiners will choose the opportunity to let the Jiaolong submerge. In the second phase of the scientific research mission, scientists deployed a number of sampling equipment in the hydrothermal zone, this dive will take back some of the equipment.
