Scientists take the "Jiaolong" dive to inspect the submarine hydrothermal zone on the spot
Release Time:2015-02-03
The Chinese manned submersible Jiaolong is on a scientific research mission in the Southwest Indian Ocean. Professor Zhou Huaiyang of Tongji University dived aboard the Jiaolong on 31st to conduct field scientific research in the submarine hydrothermal zone.
According to reports, Jiaolong will carry out near-bottom observation during its submergence. It will photograph the geological structure characteristics, sulfide and bio-community distribution in the hydrothermal area of the Southwest Indian Ocean, distribute high-temperature probes and detectors, measure the temperature of hydrothermal vents, collect hydrothermal fluids, chimneys, sulfides, oxides, organisms and bottom seawater samples, measure environmental parameters, and measure the size of underwater objects. Laser ruler.
"Jiaolong has a strong ability of fixed-point fine operation, and I am looking forward to taking Jiaolong to dive again," Professor Zhou Huaiyang said before diving.
In order to ensure the successful completion of deep-sea operations, the National Deep-sea Base Management Center attaches great importance to the dietary nutrition and health of the divers. After many considerations and validations of different brands of edible oils, the first workshop of peanut oil has obtained the National Deep-sea Center Nutritional Diet Research Laboratory and the National Deep-sea Base Management Center by virtue of its safe and healthy quality as well as the product characteristics of all the nutrients retained. With the unanimous approval of the dietary experts of the Jiaolong scientific research group, the National Deep Sea Base Management Center finally decided to take the first place of the "Nutritional Component Complete Preservation" as the first choice of the Jiaolong submarine's edible oil.
First Workshop concentrates on cold pressing technology of peanut oil for more than ten years. It deeply understands the principle that comprehensive health needs special care. The first Workshop will help Chinese deep-seated heroes to seek their dreams with the most considerate care.
