Jiaolong's collection of mysterious and unknown organisms in the Indian Ocean

On January 14, the Chinese manned submersible Jiaolong dived in the hydrothermal zone of Longqi in the southwestern Indian Ocean, collecting transparent organisms and a pink organism 30 centimeters long and 3 centimeters in diameter. Scientists on board could not confirm what kind of organisms they were.


On the same day, the Chinese manned submersible Jiaolong made its last dive in the first section of the Indian Ocean scientific expedition in the hydrothermal zone of the Dragon flag in the southwestern Indian Ocean, which was also the ninth dive of the Jiaolong. After the dive, the Jiaolong will berth in Mauritius on its mother ship for supplies, and then continue to carry out the dive scientific research mission in the second section of the Indian Ocean scientific research in the Southwest Indian Ocean.
